Zooming along

27 June. Life has changed in so many ways under lockdown. One one for the better is the use of Zooms to being people together. The Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild has been holding monthly Zoom presentations on topics of interest, from camera lighting to the history of Everest. (Peter is chair of the guild, Leni secretary by the way.) In that way the guild has been connecting up to thirty people at a time, where previously it was very hard logistically to find ways they could meet up for real, given the fact that the members are scattered throughout the country, and hold busy lives.

One part of our activities is running training courses (see Petergillmantraining.com) for full details. Here too, Peter has been conducting remote courses for anything up to 40 people at a time. The ideal number, we consider, is around six, and Peter ran courses in feature-writing and sub-editing with that number. The session with forty was part of a course in writing and editing which began in real life and ended remotely, following lockdown. This was more of a presentation than an interactive course, and it worked just fine. So if you are interested in our training courses, whether remote during lockdown, or face to face once lockdown ends, do get in touch. There are details on our Home Page.
